This week we put the finishing touches (for now anyway) on our dining room. In our old place we had the Fry's Marketplace $175 dining-set-in-a-box and a $20 IKEA clearance chandelier. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but it's pretty exciting to finally have a real grownup dining set.
We fell in love with these Shelby Williams Impala chairs (read about them here) a while back and really liked the idea of pairing the vintage, semi-beaten-up chairs with a super sleek, modern table. We thought it would be nice to do something in a white high gloss, so we decided on the Ypsilon dining table from Crate & Barrel which ended up being the perfect size for our small space.
We also threw in a chandelier from Nuevo Living (a great source for decent, affordable modern stuff), our giant floating photography (read about it here), a shaggy rug for a bit of texture, a stack of plates that we picked up for CHEAP from West Elm, our ever-migratory IKEA vases, and in case you're wondering what that strange furry thing behind the table is, that's our dog, Moses.
So, there you have it: our first completed room in the new house. Only a dozen or so spaces to go....

That lamp is too awesome. I need to come over and see your place.
